Background: Residual cancer burden significantly impacts the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in breast cancer.Post-NAC changes in the tumor bed complicate the pathological evaluation of surgical specimens. Beyond the binary classification of pathological complete response (pCR), existing residual cancer burden (RCB) and post-NAC systems often overlook the histological patterns of residual tumors in non-pCR cases. Therefore,
additional risk stratification measures are crucial for breast cancer
patients with residual disease following NAC. This study aims to assess oncologic outcomes in a contemporary cohort receiving NAC and to evaluate the prognostic significance of histological patterns of residual tumors.
